The big thing is a handle for a hen's nest.

It's one of those wing nuts that you use to hold open or closed some kind of flap or door.

You know how many times I've needed to pry up my floor boards and how handy that tool is??
I do remember when I was a kid, in this house we lived in we found a cigar box full of old coins and stuff in the floor in one of the upstairs rooms. I wonder where that stuff ever went to.
