RE: Did anyone else hear about this? - Twitchin Kitten - 10-19-2012 Bah! My friend Kenny managed to take pictures while their building was under attack in Afghanistan and send me pictures. RE: Did anyone else hear about this? - John L - 10-19-2012 I remember last year I was at an installation with an interiour designer friend, and she went to get something from the hardware store, leaving me to finish the install. After I finished up, and was waiting for her to return, I was lying down on the carpeted concrete apartment floor, relaxing. All of a sudden I felt things moving around. And looking up, I watched the chandelier over me swaying back and forth. Having lived in Alaska, in the Anchorage area, for six years growing up, I've seen earthquakes come and go on a regular basis, and I knew that this one was an earthquake. Sure enough, it was that quake last year that hit somewhere near DC, in northern Virginia, I think it was. It had a lot of people worked into a lather, so the one mentioned above probably caused the same sort of sensation further north. Earthquakes are like the wild bear shitting in the woods: it happens all the time. ![]() |
