Organic food no healthier than non-organic - John L - 09-03-2012

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! Organic food no healthier than non-organic. And when you really come down to it, it is probably less healthy on the body, because those tiny residual pesticide, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, almost certainly help maintain the body's resistance to foreign matter.

I never buy organic food, unless it is on sale, or the same as the regular produce, which is really never. Wink

I... grow my own garden... but thats about it. I have excellent Tomatoes, Peppers, Squash, Eggplant (New this year), Cantaloupe, and Watermelons. As for buying... fuck that double priced shit.

I know that to many, this will sound crazy. But actually 'residual pesticide, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria' are foreign matter/chemicals/molecules. The body's system is set up to protect its self from things that can harm it. So it builds up immunities against just such things. Living a life without all these 'residual pesticides, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, is leading a sheltered life indeed.

I learned one important thing with my year in Korea, and stint in the jungles of SE Asia that instead of trying to shelter one's self from all the tiny critters that want to harm you, if you just welcome them aboard, your body will quickly build up immunities. And believe me my body went through some real 'turns' building up its fortification. What a mess. The first six months in Korea, I had the G.I. Shits non stop. But one day all that went away, and I had the strongest intestinal system of my life.

And I still stick out my tongue at all those contamination critters. I never peel my vegetables. I just rinse them off, and keep the skins on the carrots, potatoes, etc. I even don't worry if I leave something out over night. My gastrointestinal system can handle all that without breaiking into a sweat. And even though I have food poisoning about 10-12 times a year(no, its not a stomach virus folks - its really food poisoning) I'm over it in a few hours and I know I have another immunity built up, just in case.

So who gives a 'tinker's damn' about some tiny bit of 'residual pesticide, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria'. My body can more than handle it, and should be able to take on any other tiny critter that wants to enter my fortified system, thank-you-very-much. Wink

I heard this and thought "Well tell me something I didn't already know."

"Organic" food is nothing more than a way to bilk leftover hippies and yuppie bastards out of more of their money.

If the nonsense they spouted about it being harmful was true... we wouldn't have the extended life spans. Life spans that continue to get longer. Which is it these days... 93M/96F for the average length of life? I mean just for the USA... I'm aware that the global is betwen 67 and 77 depending on which statistics company you ask. Sad that I know the worldly, but I don't know my own country. Doh!
