RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 11-08-2012 8" friggin inches of snow! ![]() we need this like a hole in the head. I'm housebound as usual. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - LKTraz - 11-08-2012 The farther down 287 from 78 I went this morning, the more snow there was. I heard on NJ 101.5 that parts of Ocean county got 12 inches of the white shit. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 11-08-2012 we sure did. Freehold has the deepest at 12" I'm heading up there tomorrow! Yikes RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 11-08-2012 It was a real treat to sleep in my own bed last night though. No droning of generators and it was nice and warm
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Gunnen4u - 11-09-2012 Blizzard conditions here. So cold, I would be afraid to pee outside. As vaunted as Montana is when it comes to winter, people don't realize we're a relatively dry climate and that states in the Midwest and Eastern part of the country get WAY more snow than we do. It's just more bitter and hard here, is all. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 11-09-2012 Yeah, I tried to explain that to Matt the first winter he had with me here. He's from Michigan and they get a lot of snow compared to us, but it's over the course of the entire winter in spurts of storms of normal depth. We get dumped on with 3' at a pop some storms. You should have heard his bitching! I don't mind shoveling snow. I get into a rhythm and it goes fast. Generators droning in the background again last night. Apparently the block behind us blacked out again. Fucker fires up the generator at 11 PM and leaves. Goddamn coward. STAY like everyone else. I'm half tempted to put a little sugar in that gas tank.
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 11-09-2012 I just spent a small fortune on a new computer. I cant take working on this tiny netbook anymore and my iMac is in for repair again. So I just bought a MacBook Pro with that fancy retina display. OMG that thing is GORGEOUS. I am transferring all my stuff from my backup onto the new machine and it will be just like having the iMac here
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Gunnen4u - 11-11-2012 Free dinner at Famous Dave's and Applebees for vets! Went and laid into rib tips and brisket with fries and the infamous corn bread muffin. I washed it all down with beer (I had to pay for that). I am defeated by food right now - so much I had to take my gun off to lessen constriction. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - twisteroo - 11-11-2012 You know what gets me sometimes. I have absolutely nothing to prove that I was in the service except my dd214. What, do I carry that into Applebees and ask for food? RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Gunnen4u - 11-11-2012 Yeap. That works very well actually. Some folks have a VA insurance card, others military ID, some have their DD214's, it all works. I used my Army ID from the Nat'l Guard. If I didn't have that, I'd have used my old ID from when I was on active duty, and if I didn't have that, I would have used my DD214. Also, the Famous Dave's offering is better than Applebee's, but go with whatever exists in the area. I went to Famous Dave's with my friends, who happen to be all vets. |
