Tis the way of bands. It's actually the exception rather than the rule when you get one that holds together long term. This one didn't really do that bad. The biggest problem was the revolving door of drummers.

Get a decent drummer in place......work on it and get tight......play a few gigs......drummer flies the coop......reset.

Why is it when I get bored I bake cookies?

I made these: http://www.twitchinkitten.com/cooking/thread-470-post-965.html#pid965

and now I have butter softening so I can make those yummy espresso crescents that are so good with coffee.

Anyone know how to drink wine? What is this nonsense about letting it 'breathe', or swirling it around, and all sorts of other tedious shit? I usually drink it out of a beer pint glass I stole from bar around here, or just out of the bottle. People tell me that is not the right way, but cannot articulate why it is really wrong, and wine tastes like wine to me. I went to a wine tasting with a particular companion of mine, and while everyone else dithered over the wine and talked about all the subtitles and hints and aromas and bullshit I think they are all making up, I just drank the bastard and made light of some of the people there much to her amusement. I tried a $45 bottle of wine, and it tasted only a bit smoother than my ol' standby, Franzia.

Anyhow, someone shed light upon my darkness in this matter. Googling just brings up the same cunts I've been getting comments from. Perhaps you guys can break it down.

Wine tasting is just not for you, Gunnen. That's not meant to be an insult, it's just not everybody's thing. I don't think it's much fun either, but if you actually take the time and really try to look for the things they tell you while tasting, you CAN indeed taste the different ingredients that make up that particular wine. It's very much like tea. You enjoy tea and are willing to try different blends, coffee too. You can taste the differences even though others who are not as "into" tea or coffee cannot.

It's also a fact that most wine connoisseurs will not admit to, wine is different tasting to each person drinking it. Some people think cheap wine is vulgar stuff where others will think it's just fine (and vice versa on the expensive stuff). But even with the cheap stuff, you let it breathe a bit and you can taste differences between them.

The swirling bit will aerate it a little more and you can see if there is "gunk" (sediment) stuck to the sides or bits of cork etc. Those things are considered undesirable. HA! They should have seen the cloudy swill the guinea we used to work with made in his basement! That shit was rocket fuel.

My car is clean and it smells nice inside! Proud

Wine tasting is a blast! Hit about four wineries and you could have a nice free buzz going on.

Franzia rocks.
My favorite wine glass, I mean besides my wine glass, is a styro foam cup.

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twilla - 07-25-2012

I like those big Dixie cups, they come in elegant colors and they hold 16 oz.

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - twisteroo - 07-25-2012

Styro foam comes in 16 oz, and bigger, they don't sweat in hot and humid weather and they keep your cheap box wine cooler longer. BTW, wine in a box will stay chilled quite a long time on it's own out at room temp.[Image: icon_c10.png]
