No. Can't move closer. My husband's business is client based--we'd have to largely start over if we relocated.
Sally, I'm soooo sorry. I have a frined who is dyiing of Lou Gehrig's disease right now. It's awful. I hope that's not what's happening with your mom.
My 20 y/o cat died today.
I've posted elsewhere that I kind of saw it coming but yeah, she's gone. I wish I could have been there but my kids were really good...they were petting and brushing her while she died. And she died pretty quickly and at home. But both my kids were crying when I talked to them tonight. I wish I was home to hug them and I wish I could have given my cat a final bit of love (I did before I left but I wish I'd been with her at the end). My husband took the kids up to some open space around our house and they gave her a little burial. Fuck. She looked exactly like this...

I'm sorry about your cat. Going peacefully like that is the best way though and she lived a good long life.
About your mom - I meant move HER closer to YOU. I think you thought I said move yourselves closer to her.

Duh, I should have realized what you meant. She's bound and determined to get better--at this point, she wouldn't consider leaving her house. Stubborn doesn't even begin to describe her. I can only hope she heals well/gets back to 100%.

I'm will be leaving in the morning for Greensboro, NC I'm heading up there to see a crochet designer. He is doing a book signing and we get to crochet with him!!
It is going to be a fun day!!! I'm so looking forward to meeting him. His patters are really cool and fun to make.
