And exactly what do you have against the Northern states? Michigan is a beautiful place I'll have you know Tongue

Just because we have one of the numerous assholes of the country (Detroit) and a couple of the even more numerous armpits (Flint, Lansing, Saginaw (Really the whole tri-cities)...)

The "South" has it's share of such places too Tongue

I Heart NYC. You can get EVERYTHING there and have a blast every freakin' day.

And deal with a bunch of fucking people. Have I mentioned I hate people? Crowds make me homicidal. Fuck cities. I even hate the one I live in and it's tiny and rarely has real crowds except during tulip time (for which I stay home and say fuck you idiots downtown).

You sound like my Uncle who comes from North Dakota who had been to every State and beyond but not here. He worked in Japan for a couple of years (speaks Japanese) and wanted to hire a car in the UK because like Japan we drive on the left. We advised him against it. Now when he comes over he asks whose driving- he admits our road systems are manic.

He lives in a beautiful part of West Virginia.

WV is a great state to live in but literally every stereotype of inbred white trash is prolific in the rural parts

Next to NY and Florida, North Dakota is my favorite state. If it weren't so damn cold in the winters and jobs paid as well as out here, it would be on my list of "I can live there" states.

also the population is 95% white and 3% native american which means that crime is basically nonexistant, it IS on my list of places to live, in fact it's #3

Those are the last things for criteria I look for. Everyplace has it's fair share of crime and it all relates to how congested the population is.

I'm not antisocial.

Does these look like busy city streets to you? You only see images of the business areas of NYC when you see them on the news. There are TONS of lovely quiet areas that will make you forget where you are.

NYC is one of those area's you gotta be into that faster paced life style, if your not its just not the place for you. The reason I would never take up NYC as a prime residence is because I like space and privacy. That is almost non existent there and if it is available its at a heavy premium. A happy medium would most likely be a city like Austin Texas or living on the outskirts of Atlanta.
