cycle as in bicycle?

we laugh at your snow! Remember, the North East is taking a vacation from winter this year. We'll make up for it next year with 3' of the stuff and be snowed in for days.

Yep. I've been laughing at our driving laws regarding the elderly for years. Too many on the road who should not. You take driver exam after exam as a young person and they drill into your head that driving is a privilege and not a right, but when it comes time to have the elderly scrutinized a little more, they scream bloody murder that their rights are violated.

I live surrounded by senior communities and I can tell you that I see hundreds of these over 80's driving, white knuckled behind the wheel and hardly able to see over the dash.

What's even funnier is our book says they must take an exam every couple years to prove they can drive and they're able to skip this with a mail in license renewal! WTF?

That is the same here, every 3 years my dad has to go 'online' and complete a form. He gets really ratty because he starts it, discovers her has to get another bit of information, wanders off to look for it, gets distracted, makes a cup of tea, finds it, goes back to the computer to find he has been 'timed out' and so has to start again.

I wonder about those who are not computer literate.
One of our customers is 94. I asked her this week how was she and did she see her sister (96) in Cornwall for Christmas (normally a 4 to 5 hour drive). Her answer was it she doesn't drive down there any more but just goes to her friend in a convent in Portsmouth (one hour away on the motorway). Her legs are giving up on her now and don't do what she wants sometimes so needs a stick to walk, in case they give out.
I watched her go out to her car (parked illegally in the loading bay) and timed her get in and settled behind the wheel for a full 10 minutes, then she drove out into the traffic .....so slowly....but she did all the correct actions mirror, signal, manouver before she pulled away.
94!!

Really REALLY hate the stuff.
I think twice before going to the cinema because of these horrible buckets they sell there.
As for ButterKist....nearly first and final date with Mark over that stuff!
At least we saw a decent film to make up for it.

That stuff in the theater is nasty! So is that microwave stuff. No no no no! You have to make it yourself from scratch with no chemical mystery butter on top.

And, what the hell is ButterKist? Do I want to know?
