RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 06-21-2012 My outside thermometer reads 101ยบ IN THE SHADE. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - twisteroo - 06-21-2012 I would give the Baldwins a fight, if I didn't kick their asses I would inflict some damage anyway. My balls are 101F, in the shade.
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - PIG - 06-22-2012 This is a private sale, financed by a bank. So it is a bit more painful. But yeah, they do a bunch of checks on buyer, seller and car. But seriously...if they were speaking directly to each other the whole thing could've been sorted out in under a day. As it's looking it's gonna be 2 weeks from when I told the seller I'd take it. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 06-22-2012 Wow. I guess that's all in place to "protect" everyone involved. Or to be as annoying as possible to drive you to the dealership for a new vehicle
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - LKTraz - 06-23-2012 Holy shit PIG......around here if you are doing a private deal it's very quick and easy. 1. Find vehicle and agree on price. 2. Contact bank with VIN and vehicle description (condition) and price. 3. On average, if not the same day, the next day the bank either approves or denies the loan. If approved they cut the check. 4. Go to the seller and give him/her the check. 5. Call your insurance company with the vehicle make, model and year plus the VIN. Once they confirm the information while you are on hold (about 2 minutes) they tell you that you're good to go. You can also do it online if the company offers the service. Just fill out the form and submit. In about 4 minutes of your time from start to finish you are insured and can print a temporary insurance card. 6. You and the seller go to a notary public that does tag/title work. 7. Fill out 2 pieces of paper and write 2 checks......one for the notary and the other for DMV. 8. Go back to the vehicle, put the license plate on and drive away! RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twilla - 06-23-2012 Isn't 7 AM on a Saturday kind of early to be edging the lawn with a really fucking loud thingiebobthatedgeslawns? I wake up early but for the young folks in my apartment complex that were probably up later than 9 PM, that might be pretty annoying. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - LKTraz - 06-23-2012 Most community noise regulations run from 9 PM - 7 AM. Between 7 and 9 unless it's excessive or clearly intentionally designed to be a nuisance it's ok. Maybe not entirely courteous but ok. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 06-23-2012 LK, the bank won't let a loan go through unless insurance is obtained first. At least here in NJ. It is NOT acceptable to make that kind of noise at 7 AM regardless of the noise ordinance. It's called consideration for your neighbor. If it's a business, there is no control but you can bitch to the neighbors. When we were renting before buying this house our neighbors next door would blast that mexican music at 6 AM every Sunday morning. It stopped when I had a fit and took Goliath over on a leash and gave them hell for it. Asking politely for 3 months was doing no good. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twilla - 06-23-2012 They've got a gardening staff here that usually roam the grounds all week doing whatever, they probably have certain areas that they mow on certain days, but this early on a Saturday? Nice and quiet now, they apparently only worked on the area right outside my GD apartment. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - LKTraz - 06-23-2012 I never said it was acceptable. But it's generally not against noise regulations. It certainly IS thoughtless. |
