What a fucked up day.
For some reason my computer decided to update the software and reboot overnight while I was sleeping. I woke up and the thing alerted me it did this ( i don't allow automatic, unsupervised updates) and it was behaving kind of funny. So I figured to just reboot and see what happens. I get a black screen of death. The whole thing was black but I can see my cursor. I thought my display died again.

Anyway, after bugging Dylan and freaking out because I have a shit-ton of work to do for my friend online, I went and tried to migrate my latest backup from here onto Matt's laptop. That project started at 9:00AM and is STILL going. Stupid screen is just sitting there spinning.
So, after reading the answer in that link on my phone, I come in here and wake up the iMac and it's fine.
I'm kind of glad because video cards for this thing Dylan said can cost like $700. Just for the part.
I'm now hoping his laptop is fine. Migration shouldn't take that long. I was needing my stuff on his until I can afford to buy the parts for this one.
Good thing I backed his up just in case.
