RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-16-2010 Well, more progress! She is completely settled in, more so than Sofie now. We took the crate down out of the living room and once she saw that gone, she made herself right at home. She enjoys staying on the top cushions of the couch or sitting next to me. She gets along better with the dogs than the other cats but she's not as bitchy toward them as Sofie is. She loves getting brushed and she seems very happy now. It's got to be better than living under that tree! RE: Meet Mikki! - LKTraz - 08-16-2010 Good deal! Yet another happy kitty with a good home ![]() RE: Meet Mikki! - obycencio - 08-16-2010 Aw! I'm glad they found you!! Both of them are beautiful! ![]() RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-16-2010 Thanks Glo and LK. RE: Meet Mikki! - kbear - 08-16-2010 One happy Kitty!! I'm sure she know she has it good now!!! Glad all is going well!! RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-16-2010 Thanks Kim. Funny thing is that I was getting all those cats whittled down to close to three now and then BAM! Along comes Mikki, and then Sofie right behind her, which in reality came first because she was the easiest one to catch! I hope no more strays cross my path! RE: Meet Mikki! - twisteroo - 08-17-2010 You can't save them all Twitch. It's tough, but sometimes you gotta just pass. I feed any cat that comes around but I try not to take any in that I don't have to. Scruf was a different case, you could tell he has nowhere else and just moved in. RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-17-2010 Yeah, I know I can't save them all. I'm pretty sure I did the right thing by these two. There are a few strays in the neighborhood that some of the neighbors here feed. I've caught a glimpse of one once. I think they live in the abandoned house on the corner. I wish they'd do something with the two empty houses here. It's 10 years since the murders and jail sentencing. SOMEONE should clean up and either sell or move into them. Anyway, once in awhile one of the male strays hangs around the house causing a ruckus with my guys but I just chase them away. These two were definitely abandoned. They settled in too quickly. I can even cut their nails, clean ears (Mikki's was yucky!) and they love to be brushed. That is not the behavior of a feral cat. I dunno Twitch, whenever it comes to an end and I have to say goodbye to one of my cats I always figure that we were both better off somehow because we crossed paths. You know when you gotta help. RE: Meet Mikki! - kbear - 08-17-2010 I have a feeling the new kitties know, they found a good home. They know they will be well taken care of. With lots of food and the good stuff. Sometime I think pet just know stuff like that. Kind of like the little doggy I do doggy day care for. She was saved from a bad house. She loves to sit on my lap and just be petted and snuggled. Like Oh, I know you will take care of me. Ok, I spoil her big time. |
