RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - LKTraz - 08-22-2010 Busy day ahead. 1) Maxine (daughter) is 12 today. 2) Have some straightening and laundry to put away. 3) Have to set up P.A. system for band practice. 4) Once the rest of the band gets here we are going to try and learn 3 or 4 new tunes and tighten up what we already know. 5) After the guys leave I have to tear the system back down and straighten up. It doesn't seem like much but there is the entire day filled. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 08-22-2010 Happy belated Birthday 12 year old daughter. I want to go bike browsing today. I also want to hit the outlet mall to the linen store. I am on a comfortable pillow quest. So far the only pillow that won't hurt my neck costs - hold your breath - $99.00! I just cannot see spending $99 on a friggin pillow! So, I am on a quest to find one at a reasonable price. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 08-22-2010 Shudda had LK come over this weekend! We got no brakes on the truck! ![]() Matt came home FREAKING out that the line has a pinhole in it and he had no brakes. I sent him with his work truck to get new lines. The kid he works with says he can fix them. I don't feel sorry for my girly man. I had so many cars I had to stop with my feet I'm immune to the panic of no brakes. Apparently he forgot he has an emergency brake. HELLO..... that's why it's called an emergency brake. Hopefully he will be able to get a brake line kit from the shop up the road or else I'll have to wait and order one from the dealer tomorrow. I hate paying dealer price. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 08-22-2010 The brake line on my old toyota went, more than once. The last time it did I crawled under there with a giant "C" clamp and pinched that fucker off before the leak. I knew it wouln't stop it completely, but I figured it would slow it down enough that maybe I'd be able to stop the truck a time or two before the big, firey, multiple, car wreck. Ready for it??? I crimped down the wrong fucking brake line. ![]() Give me a break, there was brake fluid sprayed all over the place, I thought I had the right one. It didn't really matter though, it never did get fixed. They got it up on the lift and called and told me the frame was rusted through and not to drive it any more. I knew that was coming, I put my finger through the frame a year before that, when I was looking for the gas leak that I never fixed. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Rhubarb - 08-22-2010 Twisteroo Toyota sounder like my uncle Trooper, which my aunt decide was a death trap and called to have it towed away (and my uncle paid the man to leave it). It was hiding in the 'Scary Barn' last I heard. Only ever had brake fade twice when I was driving. Once just after I'd not long passed my test, went round a double bend and into a ditch. The engine still running I looked at the dash to see a light just come on to tell me the brakes had just failed ![]() Then I was going to work (same car) 15 years later and came off the roundabout onto the dual carriage way to find a juggernaut stationary at a new set of pedastrian lights. Everything goes in slow motion doesn't it? As I was aware of no brakes suddenly (they were ok at the last junction) and grabbed the handbrake to slide hopefully with a gentle impact into the back, the lorry bagan to pull forward! So by the time I slowed to a stop the juggernaut was out of my way ![]() So I carried on just on the handbrake to work, put in full day (after strong tea and Rescue Remedy) and drove back on the handbrake. Shoved the car in the drive and chocked it up until a friend came over to fix it. *The brake light came on when I parked up at work, 6 miles later. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 08-22-2010 Oh the day gets better. Matt's work truck needed a boost. Battery died. He splits his key ring to give me my truck's keys and his so we can jump it. I shut the truck, take the keys and put them on his back bumper and say, "Here are your keys, don't forget them here." He says, "I won't." and proceeded to lose them. We just drove all over the same path he took to get brake lines to no avail. No keys anywhere. Great. Now I gotta change the ignition and locks on my truck. We gotta pull the line off and bring it in so they can create one with the exact same bends in it. It peed with rain all weekend and we had to call off the weekend camping. Still went at 6am this morning with our friends. Got soaked, ate a full English Breakfast, got soaked again, coffee and toasted teacakes, lost Ray, got soaked, packed up, found Ray. Got home had clotted cream with scones. Waved goodbye to Sue and Ray, the Sun came out as they drove away ![]() Still- sold a trailer and some more stuff ![]() 2 trailers to go............ RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 08-22-2010 I think I got a bite on all that porn that's been sitting in my garage all summer. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 08-22-2010 How long was it up for sale? Craigs list? RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 08-22-2010 Actually....I got the idea that I want to scan a bunch of old pictures that I have, but I don't have or want a printer, fax, copier, don't need or want all that shit. I just want an old working scanner. So a couple of hours ago I put an ad on CL in the barter section saying that I will trade "vintage erotica" or something like that. This guy e-mails me and asks if the pron is for sale. He actually has an ad on there that I've seen a time or two. I answered him, hopefully he will get back to me and I can unload that shit. I have the old scratch and sniff hustler right on top of the pile as the real teaser to up the price. Heh, I just talked to the guy, hopefully I can get up there and unload them tomorrow. |
