RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - TenFour - 08-05-2013 when at last the work is done don't sit down it's time to dig another one RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 08-05-2013 For long you live and high you fly But only if you ride the tide And balanced on the biggest wave You race towards an early grave. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Rhubarb - 08-05-2013 My Gran bought me that for Christmas- which proved she understood me. My parents bought me David Cassidy
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 08-05-2013 Ah I know the feeling Trudi. Grandma always delivered. Parents only deliver a lame substitute. When I was 16 I wanted nothing but a leather motorcycle jacket for Christmas. A proper one like I have now. So she goes shopping and she brings home an ugly, forest green thing with a belt tie and puffy cuffed sleeves for me to try on under the guise it's for Theresa and her mom wanted me to try it on because we were the same size. I mocked the thing. Told them she wouldn't like it. I wouldn't wear it so what makes them think Theresa would? No comment from her or Theresa's mom. Well I certainly felt like an idiot on Christmas morning when I opened that big present and there it was. The hideous green jacket. I had to pretend to love it and on top of it, it was not lined! Not even good for a mild winter day. I was forced to wear that thing all winter. Ugh. I felt double foolish for not catching the ruse for trying it on! So now, anytime I get a present that isn't exactly what I asked for but a cheap substitution, it's called a "green jacket". RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - TenFour - 08-05-2013 Well your mom is a retard for not taking it back after you plainly stated you did not like the jacket. My parents took my copy of Guns N Roses Appetite for Destruction that was given to me by my cousin away from me when I was 12. To this day I make them feel like shit for it. In fact I make them feel like shit every chance I get. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 08-05-2013 My mom scrimped and saved for that. She scrimped for everything and we suffered all year and she did really good by us at Christmas time. She still does. Knowing how many times she had to eat a shit sandwich to keep a roof over our heads and how many times she had to give up something for herself I just let it go. Even when she's an asshole today, I bite my tongue for the most part. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - AnthonyG - 08-06-2013 I learned when it came to christmas gifts it was best to guide my parents, not leave things to chance show them exactly what I was looking for. Anytime I thought they would do fine without guidance I got nonsense I wasn't interested in. As I got older they gave me a price limit I would pick out what worked for the budget and they made "santa" get it. The only people that were good at getting me gifts I liked or was interested in was my brother and my gf. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Twitchin Kitten - 08-08-2013
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - Gunnen4u - 08-09-2013 My Dad bought me a gun every other Christmas. That or a cool knife. Never fucked up, not once. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread II - twisteroo - 08-10-2013 Most people say that they don't care about Christmas presents, but they really do care about them. I really don't care.....much. I would just like a little trinket, I mean nothing expensive or complicated, just a little trinket. That would make me the happiest. Now, should I post my amazon wish list now so you all can start saving for my gifts?:p |
