I'm officially broke. I just spent my last $500 on 4 concert tickets and two dog beds.

We bought a vip booth at BB King's in NYC to see George Clinton and the Funkadelic All Stars in February.

Rotten fucking snowman poop....that's what it is. Damn snow dudes with diarrhea.

Must pass that one on to my friend Anne in Norway Kez

It snowed Shok
All over on the East Anglia and Suffolk coast. Our friends in Kent had about 2 foot too TK.
I peered out of the window at about 6.30am and......no snow (phew).

It started at lunch-time. I went to help a customer with an problem in the shop and I commented she was so cold. She pointed at the window and there it was fat white flakes whistling down the road faster than the traffic. Sorry
I'm sorry- I just choked up and felt tears coming up, I really don't want it to snow. Mrs Christopher was really sweet, and tried to cheer me up (all the regular customers know I'm a bit wobbly sometimes). As she promised it didn't settle for long, it was gone again by the time it got dark.
I never solved her problem, she forgot to tell me what it was.

It didn't snow for Christmas.Biggrin

After all that snow, hail, thunder storms and scary ice it turned out sunny and calm and frost free for Christmas.
I finished work early and got the Guinea pigs loaded on what is possibly the last trip in the Saab and caught the ferry to the Jurassic Coast. The sun came out for us Clap

I will be back with photo's (New Year -get to understand this blasted laptop once and for all before it needs upgrading!)

Well, we had 2 feet + of snow and it stuck around for a week. Friday night it started raining and didn't stop until early this morning. The basement started flooding Friday while we were out.

Matt's still pumping out water. I think I'd rather the snow stick around and melt slowly instead of putting a fucking lake in my basement.

No mud. I'm on the bay. All sand, very good drainage. It's the idiot who thought a basement in this area is a good idea and the prick who sold us the house and lied saying they never had water in there.

Us dopes believed them and lo and behold, a month later in a big storm we flooded. Go figure.

The only folks in your area who should have basements are those who have a property at 20' or better above sea level. Even at that they should be of the type that are basically a fiberglass resin tub sprayed on inside the block to seal it BEFORE the house is constructed over the foundation.

Done retro they rarely seal for more than 5 - 10 years. Danmed expensive too!

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 12-28-2009

No house in Ocean County should have a basement. My friggin' farm had a 4' water table for Chrissake! You couldn't dig a post hole without hitting water and we were dead center of the state! Jackson, NJ.

It's all sand down here, the aquifer runs far and wide from the pine barrens up. You don't start getting "hilly" until you get northward of Monmouth County.
