I want to make ice cream today. So, I went searching on the internet for recipes. Now I have no clue what I want to make. There are so many great flavors out there. I might wind up making a basic bunch of flavors and then tweaking them to my own desires.

so many decisions.

Just go to Aldi and get a half gallon of cookie dough.
Why is it that Aldi can still sell ice cream by the half gallon and nobody else does?
Can I have a taste when it's done?

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 06-13-2010

Sure you can have a taste. We don't have an Aldi cloe enough to make the trip worth it.

All the stores here have half gallons, weird yours don't.

I gotta wait for Matt to get home with the truck before we can get to the store.

Have you really looked at a half gallon of ice cream lately? They got a little smaller a couple of years ago. I don't know exactly what they are now, but they are smaller than a half gallon. Aldi still has a true half gallon though.

Yep, sneaky sons of bitches. You know, just charge me more and give me what I'm used to.

Bought English strawberries for my mum's birthday today. They are small and dainty and so sweet, unlike Spanish ones the supermarkets try to fob us off with. A little clotted cream ice-cream- hhmmmm Smile

Try Stags' Breath Ice-cream or Champagne and Strawberry icecream. I remember Christine used to make lots of different icecreams, her de-stress food. One of her first attempts at a made up one was Pear with Williams Pear Shnapps. Wonderful! Only it had a gritty texture and green flecks we couldn't identify. It turned out she didn't peel the fresh pears she used.
We have never been able to duplicate the flavour since. Sad

Mummy's Birthday today. Daddy's on Saturday.

My 'little brother' wanted me club him and buy Dad a lawnmower. I hate it when wants me to do that because he forgets to write his sister's name on the tag. So I thought, lets take Dad to buy a lawnmower then my brother will be in the sitiuation of possibly buying something more than he wanted to spend.
Only when I asked Dad if he would like to do that his reply was 'Would you buy your mother a hoover for her birthday?' No we wouldn't.
So I cheerfully called my brother and said Dad does not want a lawnmower.
I've bought him a DVD (Dambusters) and sent my brother to buy a book by PA Tracy.

I just sent Matt's dad a combo birthday/father's day gift of two books on Weird NJ volumes 1 & 2.
We should be getting lots of phone calls asking us if we know of this, that and the other thing!
